My son, the triathlete… –

Posted from WordPress for Android

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary on July 21, 2015. I can still remember when we fell in love, like it was just yesterday. We were both freshmen at the same college and we ended up with the same group of friends, but I was too busy flirting with the other guys in our group. I had dated or been in a relationship with one after another, since I was about 15. I didn’t allow myself to be alone. My freshman year at college, I began to feel like I’d never find my soul mate and I was frustrated, to say the least. So, I began to pray, Lord please either send me my future husband now or if I’m not to be married, help that desire to go away. I was through with the idea of just dating for fun. Then, I found this writing titled, “On His Plan For Your Mate”. Now, I’d like to share it with you. So, if you’re in the same situation that I was, read this, it helped me and I’m sure it will help you also.

“Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone-to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But, God, to a christian says, “No, not until you are satisfied and fulfilled and content with living loved by Me alone. I love you, my child, and until you discover that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, you will not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with Me-exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires and longings. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing and allow Me to give you most thrilling plan existing-one that you can’t imagine, I want you to have the best. Please allow Me to bring it to you-just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest thing-keep experiencing that satisfaction knowing that I am. Keep learning and listening to the things I tell you…you must wait.

Don’t be anxious, don’t worry, don’t look around at the things others have gotten or that I’ve given them. Don’t look at the things you think you want…you just keep looking off and away up to Me, or you’ll miss what I want to show you.

And then, when you’re ready, I’ll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any would ever dream. You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready, I am working, even this very minute to have both of you ready at the same time. Until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I have prepared for you, you won’t be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me…and this is perfect love.

And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love, I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty and perfection and love that I offer you with Myself, know I love you utterly. I am God Almighty, Believe and be Satisfied.” author unknown

Here are 10 tips that I’ve used that have helped me with writer’s block:

1. Change your environment. For example, if you’re inside, go outside, Go somewhere you’ve never been, etc.

2. Read more of everything. For example, books, ebooks, articles, quotes, even other posts can help to inspire you.

3. Brainstorm-go to a quiet place and that means no tv, internet, movies, facebook, etc.

The key is to focus and start writing things that pop into your head, without thinking much about it.

4. Get physical, in other words exercise or at least get up and do something for a while, this helps the brain to work better.

5. Write about current events or subjects that are popular or trending at the time.

6. Write about the places that you’ve been and share it with others, including pictures.

7. Write about what’s going on in your life right now.

8. Write about your beliefs and why you believe them.

9. Think of an interesting person that you know or author that wrote books you really liked and interview him or her.

10. Write about history that interests you, but make sure to do your research on the subject.

Hopefully, this will help get you started and also help you think of more ideas!

“Don’t ever become so busy that you fail to realize how very happy you are!” by Kathryn Hillen’s Mother

“Mother’s statement has meant much to me as I have raised our family. Whenever I have felt overly busy to the point of neglecting the little joys, the expressions of appreciation, the realization of how happy we are-whenever we play with the children seemed more of a duty than a privilege, I have thought of Mother’s words. They have been a warning beacon that has changed my attitude toward life and toward what is valuable.” by Kathryn Hillen

This was in my last Bible devotion and it really spoke to me, because I’m a very goal oriented person and I have always had a hard time playing! I always have a hard time switching modes from serious adult to playful parent and it’s really a shame that I struggle with this. Most Mom’s struggle with all the hats a Mother has to wear and I’m pretty sure that’s what my problem was. I don’t have as much of a problem now, because my boys are getting older and so am I! ha,ha:)

When we’re at the end of our life, what are the truly important things about our life? For myself, it’s the relationship that I have with Jesus Christ, the relationships with my family and friends and what I have chosen to do with my life or how I contributed to our world and the people in it!

Please share what your most important things are, we can always learn from each other! I look forward to hearing from you and finding out your most important things and anything else you want to share!

So, what are your most important things?

What happens when a nation forgets God? To sum it up in just a few words, judgement from God. When we look back at history, we find many times that people have turned away from God, including history from the Bible. When we put our selfish desires before God’s, bad things are bound to happen. Forgetting God doesn’t just happen overnight, it takes time and we usually are deceived, one sin at a time. We tend to begin justifying ourselves or what we’re doing or we say things like, that’s not so bad or it was just a “white lie”, etc. We need to be vigilant in our relationship with our creator, so that we won’t be deceived. We can also choose to ignore history, but when we do this, history tends to repeat itself. When we don’t ignore history and instead we learn from it, we usually don’t repeat it.

At the beginning of Hitler’s popularity, the people of Germany were frustrated with the economic situation that was going on at this time. When people get desperate, they do things that they wouldn’t normally do. The German people were without jobs, which means they were without food, some had no place to live and there was no hope of it getting any better. Then, Hitler begins to show the people that he will take care of Germany, if they would just follow him. At this time, I’m sure that this felt like the only solution to their problems. As soon as his popularity was increasing, he began implementation of  the propaganda against the Jews. Hitler basically blamed all of Germany’s economic woes and anything else that was wrong with the country, on the Jews. Antisemitism was already a part of the country, so it was pretty easy to encourage it more and make it more popular. There is an excellent book that I highly recommend: “When A Nation Forgets God: 7 Lessons We Must Learn From Nazi Germany” by Erwin W. Lutzer This book breaks it down, so we don’t repeat history.

It’s easy to judge history from our perspective, but just think about what you might have done, if you lived in Germany at this time, especially  considering that these changes took place over years and it didn’t happen overnight. Think about our present day and how much we’ve changed over the years, some for the better and some not. What would you do when given a choice to just go along or stand up against something for what you believe, even if it’s dangerous? I think that the more we learn from history, the better we’ll become!
