As Thanksgiving Day is only a week away, I wanted to share all the wonderful blessings that I’m thankful for. Being thankful is much easier than forgiving, but I felt the need to write about …

It’s been quite awhile since I posted anything, so I just wanted to thank all of my followers for their patience and continued support! You’ll begin to see more post coming, as before!
Love is not a feeling, but it is a commitment. When you “fall in love”, it’s more about what you have in common, time you’re spending together, friendship, companionship and of course, the physical chemistry that you have with each other. These are all important in a marriage, however the most important thing is the sincere commitment that you make to each other. This may not be what most people consider romantic love, but without it, your future together will, most likely be very short. Why, you ask? Life gets in the way. You will go through difficult times in your life together. It’s hard to be “romantic” when money is tight or illness becomes a part of your life together or you don’t agree about how to discipline the children. I could go on and on with the difficulties that tend to pop up in our lives, but this post is about how to make sure that your relationship is solid and ready for anything that comes!
There are also times in your life together, when he/she irritates you or their hobbies or interests don’t mesh with yours anymore. As time goes by and we get older, we do change and sometimes we begin new careers or it seems that your lives are going in opposite directions. When these things happen, if you’ve made a true commitment, not based on feelings, you can get through all these obstacles. You’ve heard people say, “we fell out of love”. This is really a ridiculous statement, it’s really that one or more of the things I mentioned above has happened. This is the reason for “commitment”!
My husband and I have been married for over 25 years now and we’ve been through many difficult things together, but our love/commitment to each other stands firm and our relationship is stronger because of these difficulties that we’ve shared. I could never tell you everything in this blog, but someday in a memoir. We’ve been through extreme financial difficulties, disagreements about where to live, infertility, not to mention the adoption of our boys from Ukraine. So, whether you’re just in love or your engaged, or maybe you’re even married, I hope and pray this helps guide you in making the right decisions for your life and theirs. From a personal standpoint, I can say that this commitment is extremely important, to the success of your marriage. So, remember these things and be on the lookout in the future for our memoir.
My eyes are now open to the truth! I just read Chapter 18, How Do People Become Oppressed or Possessed by Demons?, in the book: “Not I But Christ” by Corrie ten Boom.
We think of things like reading horoscopes, fortune cookies, etc. or playing around with the Ouija-board (pronounced wee-jee) or other games or books having to do with any kind of divination, as harmless fun. Satan deceived us into thinking this, because he knows it’s a sin. If we think of these things as harmless, playing but not believing, etc. we are opening ourselves up to Satan and his demons, as well as thinking these things don’t need forgiveness and therefore putting our eternal souls in danger of hell.
What things have you done or been a participate in? I know, for myself, I read fortune cookies and horoscopes in the past, as well as playing with a ouija-board and participating in levitation, when I was young. I never thought of these things, as sins, but as just harmless entertainment and because of this thinking, I never asked for forgiveness for these things, specifically, until now.
In your Bible, in Deuteronomy 18:9-13 (NIV), it is written, when you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritualist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. In the King James version, it’s much more specific and states that all of these things are an abomination to the Lord. In I John 1:7 & 9, it reads: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. vs.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. So, if you have done any of these things, it’s not hopeless, but like I John states, if you confess your sins, he will forgive you! Thank you, Lord Jesus for your forgiveness and hope!
What does it mean to serve? Some people believe it means to be the poorest or to have the lowest job. Jesus said, the last shall be first and the first shall be last. I had a boss years ago that always took all the garbage out and I remember others trying to take it out for him and he would never let anyone else take it out. One day, I asked him why he always took the garbage out and why he never let anyone else do it and he told me that he did it to keep himself humble. I thought this was so interesting . Later in my life, I learned that to be the best leader, you must serve others.

Always be on the lookout for people that possess the same values, talents and passions that are most important to you. You want like-minded people, who will have a passion for what you do. “People will not give you their hand, until they can see your heart.” by: John Maxwell You must get to know your followers and make sure they know, how much you appreciate them. “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” From the book: “The Secret: What Great Leaders Know” by: Ken Blanchard & Mark Miller “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve” by: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When I look around and see the destruction and depravity in our world, I turn to God in prayer and reading the Bible to be reminded of God’s promises. When you know which “team” is going to win, in the end, it’s much easier to have peace and rest. This works and is the way that God intended it to be.
What happens when we turn to other things to meet our needs? Many times, we turn to money, medicine, leaders, others, circumstances and even ourselves. Even though there is nothing wrong with these things, God wants us to put our trust in Him. He is the only one that can give us true peace that’s eternal. These other things can be used, by God to help us, but God wants us to put Him first. As we all know, money can be lost, medicine can stop working, leaders, others and ourselves are human and circumstances change. So, none of these can be trusted all the time to meet our needs and/or give us peace.
God always intended for us to turn to Him for everything and to have that wonderful, personal relationship with Him! He loves us and wants to meet our needs and bless us, as well.
There are people who say that God does not exist, because of all the bad things that happen. In the beginning of time, when the first humans, Adam and Eve were created, God gave them a choice or freedom to decide. They chose to sin, by not obeying and because of this, we have sin. Sin causes many bad things to happen.
We could say that doctors don’t exist, because there are sick people or food doesn’t exist, because people are starving, or money doesn’t exist, because you don’t have any. I think you get what I’m trying to say. God does exist, we just need to go to Him with our needs!
